Gearing up for runescape, what to wear. I know you didnt sign up for this, but hey. Im kinda bored of wow so im going back to runescape for a bit.  As you may have already heard. Yep im back to being a noob once again, or maybe i always was anyway, i am slowly piecing together the best bits of gear that arent too pricy in runescape, for your viewing pleasure. Please correct me if im wrong… this is a good base of gear anyway.

Melee Gear – Noob Guide

Bandos Armour Now alot of people say that you should wear the dragon boots as they have better str bonus these can be had for about 185k so not too pricey, so this is probably true for melee training as the Str or Strength bonuses make you hit harder, so thats always good. The problem with bandos is that its fairly pricey, coming in at 17.6 million for the Bandos chest, 19 million for the Bandos Tassets.

Another good piece of gear that is nice and easy to get is a regen bracelet, you wear this instead of gloves and can be had for about 150k. Its pretty good as it makes your health regen twice as fast and usually ticks for about 3-5 health every few seconds from my experience, so its free health and gives you a bit longer to be fighting with less bank runs.

Now if you are feeling keen, you can goto the warriors guild and get yourself a dragon defender to use instead of a shield, it counts as an offhand weapon and looks pretty pimp as well.

For main hand weapon a whip is usually the best bet unless you are training strength, where a dragon scimitar will probably server you better (if you have done the Monkey Madness quest), otherwise you can use a brackish blade, which are on the pricy side at around 550k (if you have no money like me).

Some other gear opinions that i have found are as follows (not sure what to choose, i guess it depends on skill level and funds) :

The Medium’ly Expensive Option

• HEAD: Torag’s Helm (217,684gp) / Guthan’s Helm (714,000gp)
• Neck: Amulet of Fury (10,233,873gp)
• BACK: Obsidian Cape (36k gp) (Until fire cape) 
• BODY: Torag’s (Set is 1.6m) / Guthan’s (2.2m) / Dharok’s (5.4m)
• GLOVES: Barrow Gloves - Not avail on Grand Exchange, have to do a quest/points. I much prefer the regen bracelet my self.
• RING: Ring of Life (8k)
• LEGS: Torag’s Legs/Guthan’s Legs/Dharok’s Legs 
• BOOTS: Dragon Boots (185,900)
• WEAPON: Armadyl Godsword (44,800,000 gp)

Totals (if you buy the full set) : ~ Around 56 million, due to the weapon. Give or take about 5 mil.

The Cheap’er Option

• Chest: fighter torso (babarian assault) *quert requirement
• Dragon Platelegs (171,236), 
• Dragon Boots (185,900)

General WoW Cataclysm Questions

What is the deal with the Cataclysm PVP Queues? Why are they so long? Why Does It Take So Long To Find A Battleground?

Well Horde battle ground queues are quite long, can be anywhere up to 10-15 minutes, This is due to the fact that most people have rolled horde and a lot less people want to play alliance  these days. Horde however seem to win a larger percentage of battle grounds than alience. So alience queues are almost instant, being mostly less than one minute. However this will change slightly depending on your battle group.

Arena Queues are always quite quick being around 1-2 minutes.

So the options are, change to Alliance and get pwned 60% of the time with instant queues, or stay on horde and wait for the looong queues.

Where can i buy the 70-80 PVP Gear?

You will have to make your way to area 51 in netherstorm, there is PVP vendors there where you can buy your classic PVP gear sets, the other peaces can be found in your capital city still, like boots and gloves. But the main items are all there, including the weapons.

What is the Haste cap for shadowpriest in patch 4.0.x or 4+?

You should be aiming for about 500 haste rating which will work out at about 6.9% haste.

How much spell penetration should i be aiming for arenas as a disc priest?

You should be aiming for around 200 spell penetration, just go for the epic cloak.

What is a good rotation for shadowpriests?

For maximum DPS you should be looking at the following rotation:

1)  Mind Blast when 1+ Shadow Orbs up to maintain  Empowered Shadow
2)  Shadow Word: Pain
3)  Devouring Plague
4)  Vampiric Touch
5)  Archangel at 5 stacks of Evengelism
6)  Shadow Word: Death only if the boss has less than 25% health
7) Shadow Fiend
8)  Mind Blast
9)  Mind Flay

Hunters

Why do PVP / Arena Hunters have spell penetration on their gear?

Well a lot of hunter attacks do spell damage, for example arcane shot and explosive shot. Also traps are all spell damage. so adding spell penetration to your gear will make your DPS a lot more effective in PVP.

How much spell penetration will i need on my hunter?

You should aim for a minimum of about 100 spell penetration, and you can go up to a max of about 200 depending on how much agility you want to sacrifice.

Mark of the Wild and Blessing of Kings both have about 100 spell resistance in them, so having 100 will negate those buffs. Mage Armor adds another 44 to all resistances. Paladins and Shamans can have around 200 resistance to fire, so if you are a survival hunter it is advisable to have around 200 spell pen.

how annoying is it when you just want to install an app and it keeps giving you the message there is not enough space free to install this app!

Well there is a bit of a trick to it, well not so much a trick as a stupid feature of the iPhone OS. Now this isnt really much of an issue most of the time, unless you happen to be using some of the giant app’s out there like the tom tom europe or usa. These come in at about 1.8gig and 1.6 gig.

So basically, if you have freed up heaps of space on your phone and its still giving you the error, keep removing stuff. According to my research, you actually need about twice as much space free on the phone as the size of the app. so with a 1.8gig app you need about 3.6 gig. Now im not sure why this happens, maybe someone can enlighten me. I would be guessing its because apple decided that instead of using 1024 bits per byte, they rounded it off to 1000. And another reason may be that when copying the app to the phone it creates a temp copy of it and then moves it to the real file. So in reality you may even need more than twice the space on the phone for the app.

Anyway for those of you with giant 32 or 64 gig iphones i guess this isnt so much of an issue, but poor me with my 8 gig iphone, has to almost format it just to install one app!
