MagicISO 5.5.281

MagicISO is a powerful CD/DVD image file creating/editing/extracting tool. It can open, create, edit and extract CD/DVD image files, and it can convert BIN to ISO formats and back. You can use it to make ISO files from DVD/CD-ROM or hard disks, with bootable information included.

Is MagicISO any good?

from the look of the reviews, its not actually that good… (only getting 2.3 out of 5 on CNet) ah well. I think the problem seems to be with this application that it doesn’t support windows 7 which is a bit of a bummer. I found that Power ISO works quite nicely with windows 7, so thats the one that im using at the moment.

If your still using one of the older OS’s this one may be a good pick for you.

What are people saying about MagicISO?

“Product works – but upgrades not free and no support!”

by sailendrap on March 14, 2010

Pros: The product works and is easy to use

Cons: No support – there is no reply to any e-mails sent for registration issues with the updated version. Basically, if you try to update to the latest build, your earlier registration no longer works.

Summary: Avoid this product – wrong claim of free upgrades and complete lack of support!

“It works for small ISO files”

by pmanser on March 7, 2010

Pros: It works, and appears to be a full-featured package

Cons: This demo version will not save an ISO file larger than 300MB — useless for my purposes

Summary: If you are actually going to pay to register the program, or only need to work with small ISO files, this program is probably exactly what you’re looking for. If like me, you just want to turn one disk into an ISO file to make a few copies

“The worst support in the industry”

by toughmandave on March 5, 2010

Pros: It works fine

Cons: Once you buy it you cannot get any support from their only support which is on line support. I have emailed them 4 times over a period of 1+ weeks and they just do not respond. Horrible support. You have to pay $29.95 again to fix problems.

Summary: Do not buy this product! You will never get any support. They do not respond to any emails asking for help for their product.

Hmm.. Not looking good for Magic ISO, oh well on to the next item Please.

If however you are still thinking of giving this application a go, you can probably download it about here.
