in case you want to target the first item on a page and hide it or change it with css.

target first item css with :first-of-type

the :first-of-type selector allows you to select the 1st item of that type in the target container. in the following example i can target the 1st <p> tag and make the text bold.

place-self

The place-self CSS shorthand property allows you to align an individual item in both the block and inline directions at once (i.e. the align-self and justify-self properties) in a relevant layout system such as Grid or Flexbox. If the second value is not present, the first value is also used for it.
