Does AI image rescaling actually work?

So usually if im creating wallpapers i just head over to google image fx and create a image from a prompt im going with this prompt at the moment. 

Can you generate an desktop background image of a cyberpunk girl leaning on a old school v8 muscle car in front of a futuristic city scape

It gives some fairly decent quality images like this one:

The issue with this is that the scale is a bit crap for even a HD screen. 

I wondered if there was a free image upscaler that looked decent so i tested this one at imgupscaler dot com if it works ill add a link to it. 

takes a while to process which is to be expected i guess for a 1.8mb image

lets see if that actually works

the file size is actually pretty small still at only 2.1 mb

zooming into the new file it really does work!
