Tin Hare Creek (GULLY), NSW Details

Description

A non-perennial watercourse approx. 1.5 km long rising near the intersection of Dudley Road and Hudson Street in the suburb of Whitebridge. Flows generally NE then N into Flaggy Creek.

Origin

Named after the Tin Hare a CPH 17 rail motor used solely on the Belmont to Adamstown line in the lower Hunter. It served the Whitebridge community providing a vital link to the city of Newcastle from May 1967 until April 1971. The Tin Hare was an icon of the area and times. (Source: Lake Macquarie Council).
